Two #5 seeds meet in the Final Four wagering on Saturday with Butler having the decided home court edge with the game being played at Indianapolis. The Bulldogs are the first team since UCLA in 1972 to play a Final Four in their hometown. The experience edge though goes to Michigan State as they have head coach Tom Izzo. The Spartans also have Durrell Summers who is averaging 20 points in the last four games. Butler is a 1.5 point Final Four odds favorite with a total of 126 at SBG Global.
 
Last season Michigan State got all of the hometown support and made it to the championship game before losing to North Carolina. This time it is Butler that has the hometown edge. The Bulldogs are also the better team as they have won 24 straight games. It is no fluke that Butler is here. They have not allowed more than 70 points in a game since Dec. 8. They have an excellent player in Gordon Hayward who is averaging 15.5 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. 
 
Michigan State made it to the Final Four even though they lost one of their best players, Kalin Lucas, who tore his Achilles’ tendon last week. "I talked to them this morning about separating themselves," Spartans coach Tom Izzo said. "We’ve gone through a lot of things this year, not as bad as sometimes portrayed, and yet not as smooth as some years that we’ve had." The Spartans also got a huge break in their part of the bracket as #1 Kansas, #2 Ohio State and #3 Georgetown were all upset. The Spartans only had to beat one team seeded higher and that was #4 Maryland on a three-point shot at the buzzer.
 
The Spartans are 25-10-1 ATS in their last 36 NCAA Tournament odds games. The Spartans are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 neutral site games. The Spartans are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 vs. the Horizon League.

NCAA Basketball Sweet Sixteen Wagering Odds

How’s the old bracket looking so far…if it’s anything like mine, we’re long past the point of trying to save it. Like a few others, I’m staring at Kansas as the Champion…the only problem being that Kansas will be watching the Sweet 16 with the rest of us.
 
But a beat-up bracket aside, I’m looking forward to sports wagering opportunities as we head into a great Thursday card, as the tournament is wide open right now.

Syracuse should be least affected by their injury, as forward Arinze Onuaku has missed every one of their 2010 March Madness games — he injured his right leg all the way back in the quarters of the Big East tournament.

Joe Mazzulla will take over for Bryant and West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins says that his new starting PG is ready. “[The Bryant injury] hurts our depth a little bit,” Huggins told ESPN. “But Joe is ready. He’s been playing really well for us. He shot the ball really well in practice and in the games. He’ll be fine.”
 
Over/Under Wagering Odds Alert: In the West Virginia Mountaineers’ last 12 games in March, there have been 3 Overs and 9 Unders, but notable is the fact that they have played six straight “Unders” in their last six. There are no injuries to speak of for the Cornell Big Red and Kentucky Wildcats, who meet Thursday night in the Sweet 16.
 
The Big Red, who have been one of those pleasant surprises, are 9-point underdogs.
 
Cornell have been a nice play as an underdog, posting an impressive 14-6 ATS mark the last 20 times they have been the dog in a matchup. And we see they are getting attention from sports bettors, as 55% of all the wagering action on this tilt has come in on the Big Red.

The Butler Bulldogs will try and help some of the bubble teams as they face Wright State on Tuesday in the Horizon League Championship. The 12th ranked Bulldogs are going to make the NCAA Tournament regardless of whether they win on Tuesday or not. If Wright State can pull off the upset though, it would take away an at-large bid from one of the bubble teams. The Raiders have their work cut out for them as Butler has won 19 straight games including both matchups against Wright State this college basketball wagering season. Butler is listed as a 7.5 -point wagering odds favorite at SBG Global with a total of 122. Watch all the sports wagering odds action live at 9pm ET on ESPN.

Wright State took out Detroit 69-50 on Saturday to reach the title game of the Horizon League while Butler beat Milwaukee 68-59 to reach the Championship. The Horizon League would love to send two teams to the NCAA Tournament but that will only happen if Wright State wins on Tuesday. The Raiders have 20 wins but they will be playing in the NIT unless they upset the Bulldogs.
 
Butler was not that sharp on Saturday but they still got past Milwaukee. "We weren’t as crisp as we want to be, but they had a lot to do with that," Butler coach Brad Stevens said. "I don’t know if there’s any real rhyme or reason to that, but our guys stayed the course." Butler is 1-4 in title games since 2003 and last year they were beaten by Cleveland State. This year’s Butler team does not want a repeat of what happened in the college basketball wagering title game a year ago and that makes Wright State’s job even tougher since the Bulldogs will not be overlooking them on Tuesday.
 
Wright State has done well in neutral site games this season as they are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games. They also do well on Tuesday’s as they are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 Tuesday games. The Raiders are 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings against Butler.
 
Butler has gotten so much respect that they have not been covering the spread very often lately. They are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall. They are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 neutral site games and they are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 Tuesday games.
 
The Under is 4-0 in the Bulldogs last 4 overall but the Over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings between the two teams.
