The Confederations Cup Semifinal wagering odds for Brazil vs South Africa are set. The game will be live on ESPN at 2:25 PM EST. One of the huge favorites in the Confederations Cup is already out as Spain was shocked by the United States on Wednesday. Can South Africa pull off another shocker and upset heavily favored Brazil on Thursday in the other semifinal? Brazil is a -1.5 goal favorite with a total of 2.5 over at SBG Global.

The one advantage that South Africa has is the home field and it could be important on Thursday. What might hurt South Africa is Spain’s loss yesterday since Brazil will not be taking the home squad lightly after what happened to the Spaniards yesterday. "South Africa are improving game by game, but we are ready and waiting for the challenge," Brazil coach Dunga said, "We want to improve in every game and because South Africa are in the semis they have to be respected. It won’t be easy for us, they are playing at home and they have the greater emotional support. But playing the host is going to be good preparation for the World Cup. Every game is different in a tournament; the players need to experience everything."

Brazil has been dominant so far in the Soccer Wagering Confederations Cup scoring 10 goals and only allowing three. They will have to play without Juan who is injured but they are far superior to South Africa in terms of talent. That doesn’t mean Brazil is taking the game for granted though. "South Africa are an emerging team, but we know they will give us a difficult test. They’re strong, quick and they will have the crowd behind them.” Dunga said, "But we’ll be well prepared. Brazil have a very strong squad, which helps in a tournament like this. Every player in the squad is a first-teamer."

Brazil is definitely focused on South Africa and they are not taking them lightly. "We know South Africa, we’ve seen their games on television and they’re a very quick team," Brazil defender Maicon said, "We need to be on our guard because they could give us a nasty surprise."

Brazil’s captain Lucio is also wary of the home squad saying, "Yes, they’re very rapid and they’ll have the fans behind them too." The three-way soccer line has Brazil at -450, South Africa at +800 and the draw at +350.

Soccer Wagering Odds: MLS Betting D.C. United vs Seattle

Fredy MonteroTonight live on ESPN 2 at 10:35 PM EST, a superb MLB soccer wagering match-up is set between Seattle (5-3-5) hosting the D.C. United (5-2-7). The Seattle Sounders have been a great story this season as the expansion club has 20 points to sit third in the Western Conference. D. C. United comes into Wednesday’s match with 22 points and in first place in the Eastern Conference. Find the current MLS wagering odds for this game at SBG Global.

Seattle got a much needed win on Saturday night as they defeated San Jose 2-1. It ended a six-game winless streak for the Sounders. Fredy Montero had his fifth goal of the season in the win. "It’s also just a matter of, as we play more and more together, we find our rhythm better. I thought the interchange between our guys was much better today. I thought our runs in the box were more dangerous," coach Sigi Schmid said, "When [Steve] Zakuani got to the end line, that’s where we got some opportunities. There’s a lot going on. He puts pressure on himself. Every goal-scorer goes through things like that, but he leads our team with five goals, and hopefully he’ll continue to do that."

“We’re going into the game with the same amount of rest as D.C. They had a pretty active game [Saturday] as well, and they’ve got to fly across the country. Hopefully that’ll behoove us." Schmid said.

United is coming off a big 2-1 win against Chicago on Saturday that put them into first place in the Soccer Wagering Eastern Conference. "I think the possession part of our game lacked a little bit in the first half. We didn’t open up and Josh [Wicks] kicked a lot of balls that I’d rather see him play out a little bit, get Christian [Gomez] more involved but I think overall our defensive performance was great," coach Tom Soehn said.

United are unbeaten at home with four wins and four draws, but are 1-2-3 on the road "It’s obviously a relief to finish off a game and be in first place, but it’s short lived. We have to turn around and go back to work. The sign of a good team is the ability to go and perform on the road. That’s another test we’ll have to do," Soehn said. "Every season has major tests and this is one. We have to show them we can step up and play for something against a good team."

This will be the first ever meeting between the two teams. D.C. United has played once previously at Qwest Field though, as in 2006 they played Real Madrid to a 1-1 draw in front of 66,830 fans.

Soccer Wagering: Confederation Cup Soccer Odds

Confederation CupEight teams will begin play in the soccer wagering Confederation Cup next weekend as the two week tournament begins in South Africa. Most of the eight teams are sending their best players so it should be an exciting tournament to watch. Brazil and Spain are sending their top stars while the United States and Italy also will field strong teams.

The toughest group is definitely the one that has Brazil, World Cup champion Italy, the United States and African champion Egypt. The other group looks like a walk for Spain as they have Asian champion Iraq, New Zealand and South Africa in that group. Visit SBG Global Sportsbook to wager on Confederation Cup Group Odds and Team Odds.

While much of the attention will be on the eight teams, some people will be watching the host country of South Africa to make sure they can put on a safe tournament. Since the 2010 World Cup will be held in South Africa, many people want to make sure that South Africa is up to the challenge. The early signs are not encouraging as 30 percent of the tickets are unsold.

The favorite for the Soccer Wagering Confederation Cup looks to be Brazil with a number of stars including Kaka, Ronaldinho, Robinho and Alexandre Pato on the squad. "It’s always about results when it comes to the Brazilian national team," coach Dunga said. "The fans want results, we all know that."

If Brazil is not the leading candidate to win the Confederation Cup then it would have to be Spain. Many players from Barcelona’s team that won the Champions League will be headed to South Africa. "It’s been a great season both personally and professionally," said Barcelona defender Gerard Pique, "We are going to South Africa to win the tournament." Spain is led by Fernando Torres and David Villa upfront along with midfielders Xavi Hernandez, Cesc Fabregas and Xabi Alonso.

Italy is also sending a strong squad to South Africa. Goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, defender Fabio Cannavaro, midfielder Andrea Pirlo and striker Luca are expected to be on the team. "We’re going to try to treat it with respect," he said. "But the team that wins the Confederations Cup never wins the World Cup. So I’m not sure I want to win it." Italy coach Lippi said.

The United States looks overmatched in their grouping especially considering their recent play in World Cup Qualifiers. They lost to Costa Rica and just got by Honduras. "I think we all recognize that the spotlight will be much brighter next year. But in that regard, maybe it’s part of what makes it a great opportunity," head coach Bob Bradley said. "You’re playing against top teams, and yet you’re doing it at a time when maybe there’s a little less focus and it gives you a chance to size up a lot of things."
