The last time the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens met, a Super Bowl Odds berth was at stake as they played in the AFC Championship game. Baltimore has struggled mightily on offense of late as quarterback Joe Flacco has been off and the team is settling for field goals. Last week they had to settle for five Billy Cundiff field goals in the loss to the Colts. Baltimore has lost some tough games this season with all five losses coming against division leaders. "These losses have been against teams that are quality football teams," coach John Harbaugh said. "Call them elite football teams in the league, but we aspire to that."

The NFL Thursday night wagering schedule kicks off this week with an NFC matchup featuring a pair of teams clinging to post-season hopes. This is “must-win” territory for both the Chicago Bears and the San Francisco 49ers.
The Bears, at 4-4 on the season, have not traveled well as of late. They sport a dismal mark of 2-7 straight up in their last nine road games and also are 2-7 against the spread in those games as well. The Niners, sitting at 3-5 on the year, have been a profitable play for their backers, boasting an 8-3-2 mark against the spread in their last 13 starts. When these two meet head-to-head, San Fran has had a clear edge, but keep in mind many of these results were produced with teams that bear little resemblance to the current editions. Dating back to 1985, Chicago is only 4-10 against the spread 14 contests. Chicago is also on six-game (0-6) ATS and straight up slump in their last six games visiting San Francisco.

ESPN will turn their cameras towards the Western Athletic Conference tonight with a showcase college football wagering matchup of two bowl teams from 2008 as the Nevada Wolf Pack host the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. The game will kick off at 9:05 ET with Nevada opening as a 10.5 point wagering odds favorite against the Bulldogs with an over/under total of 58 posted on the board at SBG Global Sportsbook.
Nevada features one of the top ground attacks in the country and will go up against a Louisiana Tech team that has breakaway offensive potential but also brings a leaky defense to this matchup.
Louisiana Tech is 2-2 both straight up and against the college football wagering odds. The home team has gotten the money in all 4 of their games this year. Tech is 1-0 in WAC play after their conference opening win over Hawaii on September 30.
The Nevada Wolf Pack are 1-3 both straight up and against the spread but are coming off their first win of the season last week against UNLV as they destroyed the Rebels 63-28 as 7 point home chalks. This will be Nevada’s first WAC game.
A slow start is nothing new to Nevada or anything that concerns them. They stumbled to a 1-2 start last year before ending up 7-6 and with a fourth straight season that ended with a bowl berth. Nevada head coach Chris Ault is a legendary Hall of Famer that is in his third separate stint with the Wolf Pack. He is in his 25th college football wagering season as the Nevada coach. Ault was feeling some heat in Reno after that poor start but the win over UNLV has quieted critics for now.
Nevada’s powerful ground attack was on full display in that win against the Rebels as quarterback Colin Kaepernick, along with running backs Mike Ball and Luke Lippincott each had over 170 yards rushing. Lippincott said the win lifted the mood of the entire program. “Inside the locker room after the game was one of the best times I’ve ever had here,” said the senior running back. “It felt good to get coach Ault a win.”
The Bulldogs don’t appear to match up well against Nevada as their defense ranks a dismal 105th in the nation at stopping the run. Nevada’s attack has the full attention of Louisiana Tech coach Derek Dooley. “They’re the same Nevada that can absolutely annihilate you on offense,” said the Bulldog coach. Tech has their own running game credentials as Daniel Porter ran for 160 yards in their win over Hawaii.
This is a matchup of the top two contenders slated to challenge Boise State for the WAC title.
